dedication of plaque to Alan Clapp to mark his contribution to Granville Island

Please join us this Thursday, October 24 at 1 pm at 1290 Cartwright Street on Granville Island for the unveiling of a plaque commemorating Alan Clapp and his contribution to the idea and inception of Granville Island. 1290 Cartwright was Alan’s office for over 20 years.

From the Deluxe Productions statement on the unveiling: “Alan loved Vancouver and was inspired to create a legacy of projects for the city he so loved; among them the United Nations Conference on housing, Habitat Forum; Pleasure Faires; and Spirit of Haida Gwaii, a documentary on Bill Reid’s master creation, among numerous other projects.

Alan was an accomplished broadcaster, an organizer, a dreamer and a creator. Please join us to celebrate him.

Also feel free to join us for lunch at the Granville Island Hotel after the unveiling.
